Extending the existing network of clinical and academic centres as well as individuals working in the field of AATD is a proclaimed goal of the eALTA program. Grifols is committed to promoting and facilitating collaborations between well-established research groups in the field of AATD.
The eALTA winners are encouraged to conduct all or some of their research project at another national or international centre. The renowned research laboratories headed by the members of the eALTA Review Team would be delighted to host and mentor eALTA fellows for certain aspects of their project.
Motivated clinicians or scientists are invited to enter the competition for an eALTA award and submit their research proposals. The two most promising projects aimed at providing novel insights into the pathophysiology, clinical course, or treatment of AATD and associated conditions will receive an award.
The recipients of the awards will be selected by an independent jury (eALTA Review Team) comprised of six leading experts in clinical and academic medicine and one representative from Grifols’ Research and Development Program. Each application that meets the terms of entry will be carefully assessed and judged against various criteria. The utmost discretion and confidentiality is assured at all times.
